Regina Thomas Elected New MLRC Board Chair
I am delighted to announce that, at a recent MLRC Board meeting, Regina Thomas was unanimously elected as the Board’s new Chair. She replaces Randy Shapiro of Bloomberg, who stepped down after a five-year reign, the longest run as Chair in memory. I would like to join the membership and the rest of the Board in thanking Randy for her service. She was delightful to work with, always making valuable contributions with her smarts, good judgement, diligence and sense of humor. Randy will continue to serve on the MLRC Board.
The Board and I are very much looking forward to working with Regina, our new Chair. She has served on the MLRC Board with enthusiasm, wisdom and grace since 2014, and over the last several years has held the key post as MLRC’s Treasurer. Regina is the Associate General Counsel of Yahoo Inc., and is serving as its Global Lead for Media Law, Copyright and Trademark. She has done content work for Yahoo and its predecessors, including AOL, since 2004. Before that, Regina was an IP associate at Morgan, Lewis and Bockius, and she attended Georgetown Law School.
George Freeman is executive director of MLRC.
