Two Positions, Penske Media

Penske Media, the publisher of world-renowned media brands including Rolling Stone, Billboard, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, IndieWire, Deadline Hollywood, Robb Report, ArtNews, Artforum, SHE Media, BGR, TVLine, Fairchild Media Group and Sportico, is looking for two Vice Presidents, Associate General Counsels: 

Position 1: The NYC position will be responsible for handling a wide variety of legal matters that arise within the Company’s Fashion, Luxury and Art digital media businesses, as well as working with the company’s corporate departments including the international licensing team.  

This position is responsible for a wide range of issues relating to digital media and publishing, including intellectual property, data privacy, consumer marketing laws and advertising law; structuring, drafting, reviewing and negotiating all manner of commercial agreements; working with the live media and event production teams on execution of events strategy and implementing appropriate risk management procedures; providing pre-publication review of editorial content and advice regarding defamation and copyright ownership, rights of publicity and privacy; structuring, negotiating, and executing strategic transactions, including strategic partnerships, joint ventures and global licensing initiatives; and managing claims and litigation.

Requires 10-12+ years of experience in a law firm and/or corporate legal department with both a strong transactional/commercial background; digital media, data privacy/data security law and compliance experience also preferred. Member of NY Bar.

Position 2: The NYC or LA position will be responsible for a wide variety of legal matters working closely with the Audience Development, Programmatic, Engineering, Technology and Procurement teams supporting company-wide initiatives in data privacy and working with certain of the digital media businesses in structuring, drafting, reviewing and negotiating all manner of commercial and technology transactions; counseling department and business unit leaders, sales and marketing teams and others on a wide range of issues relating to digital advertising and media, including intellectual property, data privacy, rights of publicity and privacy, and advertising law; working with the Audience Development, Business Development, Programmatic teams and other stakeholders across the company to develop and build upon global data privacy initiatives and best practices.

Requires 10-12+ years of legal experience and admission to either the NY or CA Bar.

Both opportunities offer tremendous autonomy and the opportunity to learn new skill sets and grow as a leader. Typical wage range: $225k – $240k + annual discretionary bonus plus other benefits.    By July 1, 2024, the company will pay 100% of the monthly health, dental and vision plan premiums for the employee and their family.
