The Media & Entertainment Transactional group at Klaris is seeking anexceptional associate (joining at the 2nd–3rd year level) to join our 20-lawyerentertainment, media and intellectual property boutique in New York City.

This is a hands-on role for a confident, driven but gracious negotiatorand detail-oriented drafter who thrives on responsibility, plugs in quickly,and inspires trust from day one.

The attorney will work on transactions across all firm matters, includingstreaming, film, documentaries, podcasts, theater, traditional publishing,digital media, live events, sports, promotions, marketing, commercial tech and generalcorporate matters. The role offers a rare opportunity to engage deeply withtransactions happening at the heart of the media business. This is not aback-office role. Associates engage directly with clients, help shape dealstrategy, and contribute meaningfully to matters at every turn. You will workclosely with partners who are deeply invested in supporting the next generationof deal makers.

Responsibilities:

  • Take an active role in supporting transactions from deal ideation through execution
  • Draft and negotiate a wide range of agreements, from bespoke deals to tailored client templates
  • Stay up to date on developments in the industry that inform client matters  
  • Counsel clients on both business and legal aspects of transactions
  • Lead and support deal negotiation
  • Manage a high volume of complex, fast-moving transactions
  • Maintain both internal and client-facing deal trackers
  • Collaborate closely with partners and clients to develop and execute deal strategy

  • Corporate/M&A experience is a plus

Compensation: $145,000-160,000 plus bonus, client origination and full,competitive benefits package.
