Assistant General Counsel, Middle East Broadcasting Networks

The Middle East Broadcasting Networks, Inc. (MBN) is seeking an Assistant General Counsel in our Headquarters office in Springfield, VA.

The Assistant General Counsel will act on behalf of and at the direction of the General Counsel in providing legal advice and counsel to management on a wide variety of legal, regulatory, and business matters, primarily regarding MBN’s operations in the Middle East and North Africa.

The Assistant General Counsel will support the overseas office by assessing legal implications, drafting contracts and agreements, governance documents and memos. The incumbent will provide analysis and counsel in support of MBNs legal and business interests.

Candidates are required to have:

  • At least 3 years’ corporate law firm or in-house experience, with significant experience in contracts, transactional matters and/or employment law.
  • Experience in multi-national environment and/or media company.
  • Licensed in Virginia.
  • Arabic language skills strongly preferred; Hebrew and/or French language skills a plus.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex laws and regulations and offer creative but sound, practical legal options.
  • Ability to apply legal principles to business practices and procedures in an reasoned, effective, and efficient manner.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communications skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to work on and complete multiple and diverse projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
