MLRC Annual Dinner 2025

Date: Wednesday, November 5

Join us for the 2025 MLRC Annual Dinner — our sole fundraiser of the year — on Wednesday, November 5 at Gotham Hall in New York City.

Gotham Hall is located at 1356 Broadway (at 36th St) in New York City. Map here.

Cocktail Reception: 6pm
Dinner Service: 7:30pm
Dessert Bar: 9pm
Evening Ends: 10pm

As an alternative to Trump’s attacks on the media, our headliner at the Dinner will be Sally Jenkins, who for the past 25 years has been a sports columnist at the Washington Post writing about sports and American culture, and very recently has moved to The Atlantic. Sally was named the nation’s top sports columnist by AP 5 times and was a Pulitzer Prize finalist in 2020. Jeff Goldberg recently said Sally “is quite possibly America’s greatest living sportswriter.”

Interviewing Sally is the legendary Bob Costas. Bob is the winner of a record 29 Emmy Awards and was named National Sportscaster of the Year eight times times. He worked for NBC Sports from 1980-2019, during which time he was the prime-time host of 12 Olympic Games and the announcer of numerous World Series. He also delivered eulogies at the funerals of Mickey Mantle and Stan Musial.

Your support has never been more important. At a time when press freedoms face unprecedented challenges, your participation helps sustain the work we do to defend free speech and a strong and independent press. Even if you can’t attend, purchasing a ticket is a meaningful show of support.
