Dean Schramm

Dean Schramm spent the first decade of his professional career as a trial lawyer. Shifting gears, Schramm became a literary agent representing writers, directors and producers in film and television. In 2007, he opened a management/production company, The Schramm Group.

Schramm’s credits include: Executive Producer, documentary feature film, “Darfur Now” premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival and nominated for Best Documentary Film of the Year by the National
Board of Review, The Broadcast Film Critics Association, The International Press Academy, The Chicago and San Francisco Film Critics Associations and winner of the 2007 NAACP Image Award for Best Documentary of the Year; Executive Producer, movie for television, “Secrets of Eden” based on the New York Times Bestseller by Chris Bohjalian, starring John Stamos and Anna Gunn; Producer, “Re-Animator: The Musical”, winner of six LA Weekly Theatre Awards including Best Musical Of The Year as well as LA
Stage Alliance Ovation and Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards for Best Book and Best Music and Lyrics; invited production to the New York Musical Theatre Festival OffBroadway and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Producer, “Taste”; winner of Stage Raw Los Angeles Theater Awards for Best Playwriting, Best Set Design, Best Direction, and Best Two Person Performance. Producer, documentary feature film, “iViva Maestro!” about the great Venzuelan conductor, Gustavo Dudamel; nominated for the Writers Guild Award for Best Documentary Screenplay.

Schramm graduated from Amherst College in 1984 and the University of Chicago Law School in 1988.
